Later printing, association copy, inscribed and SIGNED by the author, in original unclipped dust jacket. Very clean rose paper-covered boards with blue cloth spine, bright gold lettering on spine. No bumping, fading or wear. Binding is tight and square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Inscribed by author on front free endpaper: "To my fellow explorer Allan R. Holmberg with high esteem and sincere best wishes for continued success on your Peruvian humanitarian project. - Lewis Cotlow (Christmas 1957)." Laid in is a four page review of the book with photographs by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Saturday Review, and the New York Herald Tribune. Book is illustrated with black and white photographs by the author, maps. 245 pages. Clean bright dust jacket is not price clipped, has small v-shaped chip at top front panel edge, slight wear at top spine edge. Photo of author with an Indian of the Mato Grosso on rear panel. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover.
