First Edition. Clean unfaded red cloth boards with black lettering on cover and spine. Very slight bumping to top and bottom spine edge, no fraying. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Clean endpapers (one tiny spot, smaller than a pea on front free endpaper). No names, writing or bookplates. 271 pgs. Illustrated with black & white plates. Unfaded dustjacket is price clipped at top corner of front inside flap, has shallow chipping at bottom spine edge (1/4"), tiny chip at top spine front corner, very short closed edge tear at rear panel bottom edge. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. True crime story. On a winter's night in 1906--Harry K. Thaw (author of this book), murdered Stanford White, one of America's leading architects, because of his seduction of Evelyn Nesbit, glamorous young model and showgirl. For 20 years the book was supressed by the millionaire Thaw Family.
