Hint of light surface wear to corners, no bumping or fraying. Binding is tight & square, pages and edges are clean (very slightly yellowed), clean yellow top-stained page edges. Clean endpapers; no names, writing or marks. 583 pgs. with index. Clean dustjacket is not price clipped (6.00 on front inside flap), has shallow chip at top spine edge (1/4" depth), light rubbing. Photo of author Margaret Mead and photo of Ruth Benedict on rear panel. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Margaret Mead was the pupil of anthropologist Ruth Benedict, also her friend and colleague. Here Mead sets down the biography of a person whose work she greatly admired.
