Pages and edges are clean. Clean red-orange endpapers; no names, writing or marks. 533 pgs. with index. Illustrated with photographs. Dustjacket is not price clipped, has very tiny chip at top spine edge, a few short closed edge tears, slight browning to spine. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Biography of Sam Ward (1814-1884), one of New York's most prominent bankers; writer, paragon of social life in New York and London; gold rush prospector; epicure and gastronome.
