Stated First Edition in clean original unclipped dust jacket. Very clean unfaded brilliant blue cloth boards with stamped red lettering and airplane decoration on cover, red lettering on spine. No fraying or wear. Binding is tight and square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean, with slight yellowing. Tasteful previous owner bookplate on front fixed endpaper, with brief inscription neatly penned and dated 1938 on front free endpaper. Nice sepia-tone photo portrait of Corrigan as a frontispiece. 56 Gravure illustrations. One page has short closed tear at margin fore-edge (page 189). 221 pages. Dust jacket design from painting by charles H. Hubbell with a photograph by RKO Radio Pictures - clean jacket is not price clipped, has a few short closed edge tears and a chip at rear corner base of spine. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. The autobiography of "wrong way Corrigan" - a famous aviation who was also a mechanic for Lindbergh. He also tells for the first time the full inside story of his famous "wrong-way" flight, of how it happened, and of his struggle against fog and storm and the nervous strain of 28 hours alonel -- 3000 miles of ocean flying in a single-motored second hand plane.
