Very clean green cloth boards with black illustration and lettering on cover, black lettering on spine. No bumping or fraying. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Tasteful previous owner bookplate on front fixed endpaper. Small portrait of A. Edward Newton lightly tipped in on back of fly leaf; photo and small article on illustrator tipped in at rear fixed endpaper. 252 pgs. illustrated with amusing drawings by Gluyas Williams. Clean dustjacket is price clipped, has clear tape reinforcement at top of spine, along front top edge, at rear corner tip. Enclosed in new archival quality mylar cover. Slight mottling to board cloth from acidic reaction with dust jacket. No fraying or wear. Binding is tight and square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Small previous owner inscription dated 1930 neatly penned on front free endpaper. Illustrations by Gluyas Williams. 252 pages. Dust jacket is unclipped (3.50 net on front inside flap), has very small chip on spine, some age-toning. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. 024216

Very clean blue boards with stamped oval decoration on cover, clean beige cloth spine with blue lettering. No bumping or wear. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Two previous owner bookplates (one on front pastedown, one of front free endpaper). "Dream-Children Edition" stated on title page. Inscribed and SIGNED BY AUTHOR, this is a limited edition (limited to 1351 copies, of which this is copy #357). Author's inscription: ""Dream Children" - By common consent, the finest essay in the language. - (signed) A. Edward Newton." Pages and edges are clean. 235 pgs. with index and facsimile of hand-written manuscript for "Dream Children" in fine condition in rear sleeve. Illustrations throughout, including color frontis portrait of the author with clean tissue guard.
