First Edition, Second Printing, inscribed and SIGNED by the author, in original jacket. Clean green cloth boards with black title box, silver lettering on spine. Slight surface wear at top and bottom spine edges. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Inscribed and signed by author on front free endpaper: "For Jo Matsen with the compliments and war good wishes of the "Northern Farmer." - Henry Beston." Illustrated by Thoreau MacDonald. Clean dustjacket is not price clipped, states "Second Printing" on front inside flap; has three small chips to spine panel. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover.
