Stated First Edition, SIGNED by the author, in original illustrated dust jacket. Gray cloth boards with small red decoration on cover, red lettering on spine. Slight fading to bottom spine edge and adjacent corners. No fraying, binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Boldly signed by author "Grace Moore - April 1944" on front free endpaper. 275 pages. Dust jacket is clean, not price clipped (2.50 on front inside flap), has shallow chipping at top and bottom spine edges (1/4"), very small chip at top rear corner tip, a few short closed edge tears. Lovely photo of author on rear panel where she promotes purchasing War Bonds. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Exciting biography of one of America's most fabulous prima donnas who was equally successful in opera and on the concert stage. The book is filled with stories of her Paris days and her contacts with the likes of Noel Coward, Irving Berlin, Alex Woollcott, Donald Ogden Stewart, F. Scott Fitzgerald and more.
