Stated First Edition. Clean black cloth boards with blue title box on spine. Some sun fading to spine; no fraying or wear-through. A few light scratches to rear board. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean, with clean illustrated endpapers. Tasteful previous owner bookplate on front paste-down. The ever-popular and wonderful story by Louis Bromfield (a Pulitzer Prize winning novelist) about how he reclaimed worn out farms in his homeland around Lucas, Ohio and through sustainable farming, turned them into rich and productive land. (Malabar is still a working organic farm run by the State of Ohio and visited by thousands every year).
