"First Printing" stated on copyright page, in clean original jacket. Clean beige buckram cloth boards with blue decoration, blue title box on cover and spine. No bumping or wear. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Clean endpapers; no names, writing or marks. Illustrated with photographs by the author. 347 pages. Dustjacket is clean and bright, has a few tiny holes near edges from insect damage, but has been cleaned and enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover and looks bright and attractive. Price clipped. The story of the author's adventures with a Norwegian sealing and fishing vessel over a period of six years. Much of the action takes place in the heavy ice pack off the East Greenland coast, but also concerns itself wit hthe difficulties of handling the not always sober skipper (the author's father-in-law), a sailor of the old school who weighs 245 lbs. 021614
