First Edition, signed by author. Clean blue cloth boards with silver title box on cover and spine. No bumping or wear. Binding is tight & square, pages and edges are clean. SIGNED on title page by author (not the Alfred Hitchcock of movie fame). Clean dustjacket is not price clipped, has v-shaped chip at top of spine (1/2" depth), slight fading to spine. Enclosed in new archival quality mylar cover. The author of "Bread Loaf Talks on Teaching Composition," and many other successful books on the teaching of rhetoric and literature, illustrates in this volume of short stories the theories that he has for many years taught his own students. For the most part his stories are told against a New England background of hills, mountains, and seacoast, and contain many characterizations done with sympathy and gentle humor. 8vo. Short Stories.
