Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Poet Alfred Noyes has written a deliciously light-hearted story, a blending adventure, sly satire, comedy and beauty. How Basil, an ever-so-proper young ecclesiastic, lost his clothes and battled his way back to them through a terrifying series of mental hazards, is the fable of the book. How he also lost the swaddling clothes that encased his soul, and didn't regain them, is its theme--a theme on which Alfred Noyes plays with altogether charming philosophical and farcical variations.
