First Edition, signed by author, in original unclipped jacket. Clean toast brown cloth boards with black lettering on spine. No bumping or wear. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Inscribed and signed on front free endpaper by author: "To my good friend - Marie A. Comfort." Illustrations by Ruth Nincehelser. 154 pages. Clean jacket is not price clipped (3.50 on front inside flap), very small shallow chips at upper spine edge, a few short closed edge tears. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. The story of Margaret and Merritt Comfort who set off on a cold November day in 1895 on their way as home missionaries to the pioneer families in the Parry Sound district of Northern Canada, as told by their daughter.
