Grosset & Dunlap edition. Originally published by Covici-Friede, Inc. in 1931, this book is scarcer than hen's teeth in any edition. A "Thatcher Colt" Detective Mystery. Orange cloth boards with black lettering on cover and spine. No fraying or wear, Light soiling, with slight fading to spine. Binding is tight and square, pages and edges are clean, with green top-stained upper page edges. Front free endpaper has name at top edge of front free endpaper that has been covered over with a black crayon. No other marks. 284 pages + publisher's advertising at rear of book. An engaging mystery story about the strange death of the Reverend Timothy Beazeley and of Evelyn Saunders, his beatuiful choir singer.
