Grosset & Dunlap edition in clean original illustrated dust jacket. Brown cloth boards with black title box, brown lettering on cover, black lettering on spine. No fraying, very light surface wear to spine edges. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Previous owner name on front fixed endpaper. Frontispiece illustration by Paul Stahr. Pages and edges are clean (slight browning). 312 pages. Enchanting dust jacket has shallow chipping at top and bottom spine edges (max. of 1/4"). Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. A newly married woman turns to another man for comfort when she learns she has been married for her money through overhearing the chance remark of her husband's friend.
