First Edition in nice original illustrated dust jacket, SIGNED on half-title page. Beige cloth boards with stagecoach illustration, brown lettering on cover; brown lettering and running longhorn on spine. No bumping or wear; very slight foxing to edges (barely visible). Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Clean illustrated endpapers; small neatly penned name in upper corner of front pastedown. Wonderful drawings throughout by Edward Borein of the vanished American west he saw and put down on paper. Signed as follows on half-title page: "A Souvenier of Rancho San Fernando Rey." Colored frontispiece portrait of the artist, many black and white illustrations. Dust jacket is slightly age-toned at edges, one small chip to rear lower spine fold edge, very shallow chipping at top and bottom spine edges. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. A presentation of pen and ink drawings that Borein produced throughout his life that were kept by his wife and presented for publication seven years after his death.
