First Edition decorated American trade binding (decorations by Louis Rhead). Clean green cloth boards with black, gold and green decorated cover (two fishing rods on left and right side of cover with tangled lines beneath the gold title lettering; circular decoration with golden fish leaping out of water). Gold lettering and black pine tree design on spine. Very slight wear to spine corners. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Endpapers illustrated with beautiful black and white mountain lake photograph (Lake McDermott). Previous owner name neatly penned at top of half-title page. Lovely illustrations and decorations by Rhead, as well as photographs illustrate this beautifully written and decorated book. Please note that there are a few marginal notations in pencil by a previous owner which I have not erased, because they are interesting and well placed. They would be easily erasable if you wish, but I felt they were intrinsic to the book at this point, place there by someone else who loved it.
